Introducing our newest member of Newport Stiwdio, Adedamola Akintunde, ACIB, MBA of Humoni
1.When did you join Startup Stiwdio?
I joined Startup Stiwdio in October, and it’s been a significant step forward. Rather than focusing on building just the idea, we’ve been working to create something with real impact. This is the ideal environment to turn our vision into a reality and scale it, supported by a vibrant, creative community.
2.What course did you study at USW?
I completed an MBA at USW in September, and it has been a pivotal experience for me. Not only did it help me refine my skills, but it also exposed me to new learning and perspectives. The program provided practical strategic learning, and the interactions with experts and professionals from various sectors has been invaluable.
3.Tell me about your business idea and concept?
The mission is simple: to make financial services more accessible for migrants through innovative fintech solutions. We believe Open Banking offers a unique opportunity to address the financial exclusion often faced by these underserved communities. Our goal is to create a financial platform that not only provides access to tailored credit products but also create a supportive ecosystem of tools and resources designed to empower individuals, promote equity, and drive financial inclusion.
At the core of what we aim to build are principles of empathy, empowerment and equity. These values guide every interaction we have with potential users and partners, ensuring that migrants feel, supported, and empowered.
4.Why have you joined the Startup Stiwdio?
I believe collaboration drives true innovation. When you bring together creative, like-minded people and give them the freedom to explore new ideas, that’s when ground-breaking ideas take shape. Startup Stiwdio is exactly the kind of ecosystem where that happens. From the very first conversation, it was clear that they understood and believed in our mission. It’s not just about launching a business—it’s about creating something that can reshape how migrants engage with financial services, and Startup Stiwdio is the perfect place to make that happen.
