A winner has been named in a USW competition to help design a logo that reflects the race equity work at the University.
The winning design was created by graduate Ida Mirzaee, who studied MA Animation at the University. She is now a member of USW’s Startup Stiwdio, where she is developing her own production company.
The branding will be used on online channels and at events to signpost members of the University to ongoing race equality work. The competition, which ran throughout the month of February, was open to USW students and members of the alumni community who had graduated over the past ten years. As a result of winning the competition, Ida will receive £150 and a a gift card worth £100. She will also work with colleagues from the University’s Branding and Startup Stiwdio teams to work up her logo into a final design, which will be incorporated into the USW brand guidelines.
Nine additional runners up were chosen and will each receive a gift card worth £100.
Upon being announced as the winner, Ida said, “As a result of receiving a Sanctuary Scholarship to study MA Animation I have been able to learn and grow at USW. I have since graduated with a distinction and have joined the University’s Startup Stiwdio. My life has been changed by this and I want everyone else to have this experience, too.”//
