The Startup Stiwdio recently celebrated the successful launch of its purpose-built facility in Treforest with a sold-out BBQ event in the adjoining courtyard, located in TR BL15.
The new space, shared with the USW Exchange team, has been purpose-built to facilitate open-plan coworking and events. It features a teaching area, bookable conference rooms, wall-mounted monitors for hybrid meetings, and an outdoor courtyard ideal for networking.
The event saw over 50 students and graduates from a variety of courses, including Chiropractic, Engineering, Management, and Creative Writing, coming together to celebrate the launch of the new space. It was an opportunity for them to share their business ideas, gain feedback from peers, and learn about the support available from the Startup Stiwdio.
This support includes weekly business development workshops (resuming in September), a professional space to meet clients, free accountancy advice from Llama Accounting, legal advice from Capital Law, a business address on the premises, up-to-date funding opportunities, and access to the bespoke coworking hub.
If you are a recent USW graduate looking to freelance or set up a business in RCT, please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you. Email stiwdio@southwales.ac.uk to arrange a meeting.
Additionally, if you are not a USW grad, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. The Startup Stiwdio hold regular events and programmes open to external applicants, plus the USW Exchange team has reopened its doors to local businesses and organisations looking to utilise the facility and tap into the University’s wealth of knowledge.
