If you were watching ITV last month, you may have seen one of our entrepreneurs, Ida Mirzaee, on the small screen. Her appearance on “Wales this week”, which included an interview as well as a snippet of her award winning animation “the Final Step”, came about almost by chance and was filmed on location from the Cardiff Startup Stiwdio.
We sat down with Ida to find out more
– How did ITV approach you for the interview?
+ I was introduced to ITV by Dr Mike Chick, who was scheduled to be interviewed by ITV. He spoke to them about me as I was relevant to the content of their program. After a meeting with Lynn Courtney, the Producer at ITV Cymru Wales, she asked me to do the interview.
– Could you tell us about your experience working with ITV?
+ Working with ITV was an amazing experience. The team was incredibly supportive and showed genuine care for my situation and mental health. I truly appreciate all they’ve done for me.
– Can you give us a brief overview of the ITV broadcast you participated in?
+ The ITV broadcast titled “Wales This Week: Room At The Inn” explored the plans to offer shelter to several hundred asylum seekers at a hotel in Llanelli and discussed potential similar projects elsewhere. It asked how well-equipped our towns and villages are to provide such support. Moreover, the broadcast examined the potential impact on our communities and the individuals being accommodated. It also pondered what might happen if we are unable to provide the levels of support they need.
