Creative Industries Cluster Hubs is a multi-stakeholder project led by Cardiff University’s Centre for the Creative Economy. It works in partnership with local authorities across the Cardiff Capital Region to convene grassroots creative networks and activity.
This programme is currently closed. If you are interested in updates or similar projects, please email stiwdio@southwales.ac.uk for an informal discussion.
CABAN RCT is managed by RCT Council in partnership with University of South Wales Startup Stiwdio.
CABAN RCT is focused upon building a bigger arts and creative industries cluster in RCT through targeted business and startup support and a range of networking events to increase
collaboration and innovation between creative individuals and businesses.
Rhondda Cynon Taf has a rich creative heritage across diverse areas including music, dance and performance arts. Working with established theatres and venues in Pontypridd, Aberdare, Treorchy and more, CABAN RCT aims to leverage the Valleys’ creative energy and renew creative links across the borough and with the wider Cardiff Capital Region. The expanding range of creative industries in this region will also benefit from networks being developed by the CABAN RCT.
CABAN RCT is open to any existing creative individuals or creative companies and to anyone considering working in the creative sector. It’s free to join and there is support to attend and participate in the dedicated training programmes being offered. We aim to develop a Cluster wide database and marketing activities to help the creative sector in RCT sell itself more widely and devise a plan for future ongoing sector development.
RCT Council already has in place town centre regeneration plans for Aberdare and Porth and we recognise that the arts and creative industries represent a key sector to assist in the county’s economic development. Piloting this cluster development in Pontypridd, Aberdare and other towns will hopefully become the catalyst to sustained growth and job creation within RCT’s creative sector.
